Its been over a month since I passed my private pilot check ride, and I have only flown 3 times since then. The airplane I have been flying has also been a completely new one (multi-engine piper seminole). The multi-engine addon was only supposed to take a couple weeks. So last week they tell me you are going to do 4 flights in 2 days and then take your check ride on the the third day.

What doesn’t make sense to me is why did they wait so long to put me back into an airplane, my first flight in the multi engine plane was almost a month after my last flight in the single, so not only does it take some time to get used to everything, but also just getting back into the groove of things is hard when you haven’t flown for a while.

Another thing that I am going to complain about if they dont change it, is the way they do ground school. I have a binder that tells me how many hours I am supposed to have in the simulator, in the plane, and in ground school. Now they do a pretty good job with the sim time and actual flying time. But the ground school is getting cut by hours every time I go. My very first ground school session was supposed to be around 8 hours. It was maybe 45minutes….

How am I supposed to grasp something in 45 minutes when the suggested time is around 8 hours. On top of all this, I am paying them a nice sum of money for their “quality” training. Half the people who teach ground school their, are students themselves. In fact, my instructor was trying to explain multi-engine out aerodynamics and he pretty much just quoted what was out of the book. Thats no help, I have read the book a thousand times, I need someone that actually knows what they are talking about, so that I can get a better understanding.

Anyway I’m done ranting I just hope something changes here.
