Sorry I havent had much to say lately. I had a 12 day gap where I did not fly at all, due to weather, and some scheduling issues. However I started back on Wednesdays and my flight went great, and I managed not to forget everything lol.
Pretty much at this point my instructor and I are working on entering uncontrolled airports, meaning airports without a control tower, and just making me feel comfortable with the traffic pattern. Cause I probably wont always be landing and taking off from the same place *wink wink*.
My solo will consist of me being capable to fly the chief instructor to Flagler airport, dropping him off, and then doing 3 full stop landings & take offs. Then we will fly back home, and hopefully he will tell my instructor what a great instructor he is.
I will let you know how this goes, I am currently studying for a pre-solo written exam, and will take my solo flight on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.

Well no flying because of tropical storm Fay. Not to much to say about it other then I hope it blows over soon so I can get back to flying.

So today I got the chance to witness something very cool. On my break from ground school I was outside, and saw some military representatives pull up in their vehicles. Shortly after a jet landed and it had the words Battle Ground Arizona painted on it. The crazy thing was when they landed the airport fire department was waiting on the plane’s arrival so they could spray the entire plane down with water.
Now never seeing something like this, I had never heard of a water salute. Apparently one of the Captains aboard was retiring and they paid respects by spraying water on the airplane and sounding their sirens. It was pretty cool, I thought it was because they had a fire or some type of emergency.
Anyway the pictures I’ve posted are the military troops getting off the airplane, and lining up in a formation while marching off.
It’s good to see them home safe and sound. Thank you for your services I know I couldnt do it.

So I haven’t felt nauseous for my last few flights. All I can say is that what a relief it is to actually learn instead of not learning cause I feel sick. My instructor Kevin and I have been practicing several full stop landings, so I can critique my take offs and learn more about pattern work.
I am becoming better each day as I learn how to speak with Air Traffic Control (ATC) and actually understand what they are saying. Its actually quite simple once you get the hang of it.
Today I got to practice slow flight maneuvers, and also 45 degree bank angle turns while maintaining a constant altitude. Pretty fun stuff, and its so rewarding when you actually make the instructor feel comfortable. When he is comfortable enough to let you have the controls entirely then you know your doing something right.
Hope you liked the few pictures, I will get some more on here soon.
